How To Commission Your Portrait

  • Photos - The most important step is to choose your photos. The better quality of the photo, the better portrait is going to be. Sharp detailed features and in-focus elements of the photo like hair, fur, eyes and nose will be needed when choosing the reference for the commission. Natural light, no flash is preferred. The best angels where the face is looking straight at you or slightly tilted to the side. I will review and discuss your photos when ordering the commission.
  • Size - Choose your size. It may depend on the number of faces and your budget.
  • Type - Choose if you want just a head portrait, extended body or a full body (if a pet portrait).
  • Details - Contact me with your photos, specific deadlines such as a birthday or anniversary. I will try to do my best to fit you in my schedule.
  • Order - After the photos are discussed you can place your order. I require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot in my waiting list. Then 50% of the remaining balance is due 1 week before the portrait is ready and the rest is paid just before the portrait is ready to be sent. Payments can be made securely by checks or ApplePay.
  • Progress - I can show you your portrait in stages if you want. Then your portrait will be securely wrapped, packaged and shipped out to you. You will get a receipt about your payment in the package.
  • Framing - Usually all my portraits are sold unmounted and unframed. But we can discuss the framing and its style for an additional charge.
